Routines on Buddy

  • Updated

Buddy helps your child keep track of their routines.

On the home screen, you may see a routine section with buttons for each part of the day: Morning, Afternoon, and Evening. A button will only appear for a routine section if there are routines set up for that part of the day.

The morning, afternoon, and evening sections, with afternoon highlighted.

The button for the current routine section will have a soft glow.

Tap any button to see the routines for that part of the day:

The first routine is shown automatically.

The routines screen displays:

  • The time.
  • A Tasks Bar, showing buttons for available routines with Emojis.
  • The number of stars earned.
Stars require a Skylight Plus for Buddy subscription.
  • A set of routine cards, one for each routine, displayed one at a time.

The Tasks Bar

The Tasks Bar holds buttons for your routines:

The routine buttons show the routine’s Emoji:

  • Uncompleted routines are shown on a light background.
  • Completed are shown in green with a check mark.

Tap any routine button to bring that routine card into view.

If you have more routines than will fit in the Tasks Bar, swipe right and left to show more routine buttons.

Routine Cards

Each routine appears on a routine card. Buddy only displays one routine card at a time:

The first routine is shown automatically.

Swipe left and right to display more routine cards.

Swiping is optional. For some people, keeping tasks in the same order is important to establishing a routine. Buddy makes it easy to follow a set of tasks in the same order every day: use the Buddy Button to complete routines in order.

Complete a Routine

  1. Tap anywhere on the routine card or press the Buddy Button to complete a routine card:
A checkmark is added when the routine is completed.
  2. Buddy will celebrate:
A cheerful image of Kirk, saying "Incredible!"
  3. Tap the screen or press the Buddy Button to go back to the routines screen.
  4. The completed routine card will move aside, and the next routine will appear:The screen advances to the next routine.

Return to the Home Screen
