Welcome to your new Skylight Calendar! Follow these simple steps to get set up and make the most of your new device.
1) Download the Skylight App and Connect to Wi-Fi
- Download the Skylight app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Open the app and follow the prompts to connect your calendar to your Wi-Fi network. Make sure your calendar is plugged in and powered on.
2) Activate Your Skylight Calendar
- In the Skylight app, create your unique Skylight Calendar email address (yourdevicename)@ourskylight.com.
- Once your email is created, enter the provided activation code directly on your calendar’s screen.
3) Sync Your Existing Personal Calendars (Google, Outlook, iCalendar and more!)
- In the Skylight app, use the Sync function to link your personal calendars (e.g., Google Calendar, Outlook, iCal). Select the logo of your personal calendar and follow the on-screen instructions and images.
Important:- Make sure your calendar link allows permissions for an external sync.
- You must be the direct owner of the calendar, not just a viewer of a shared calendar.
- Currently, only Google Calendar supports two-way syncing.
- No Personal Calendar? No Problem!
If you don’t already use a personal calendar, you can manage all your events and activities directly through the Skylight Calendar app and device!
4) Review and Set Up Your Profiles
Synced personal calendars will automatically generate Profiles. In the Profile section of the app, you can:
- View existing Profiles, check which Profiles are linked to personal calendars, and edit names or colors.
- Merge multiple Profiles or create new ones.
- Tip: You should create a Profile for anything that will be linked to future events or chores (e.g., family members, sports schedules, or personal tasks).
5) Create Events with Your Skylight Calendar
- You can create events in Skylight using either the Calendar or Skylight app. Each event needs to be tagged to a specific Profile to keep your calendar organized and color-coded.
6) Explore included features like Chores, Lists and Meal Planning
Skylight Calendar includes built-in features to make family life more seamless and collaborative. From organizing household chores to keeping track of shopping or to-do lists, these features are designed to help everyone stay connected and on the same page.
