Using the Rewards Tab

The Rewards feature is part of Calendar Plus. You must be subscribed to Calendar Plus to assign stars to chores or create Rewards.

Rewards is a feature that helps motivate family members by making their progress toward goals visible and trackable. Parents can assign values to chores, allowing both them and their kids to see how each completed task contributes toward earned rewards.

Every reward must be assigned to a Profile. Rewards are assigned to individual profiles so that each individual can track their progress to their assigned reward goal. When creating rewards, you can assign to multiple profiles, but the progress made toward those rewards will be separated by individual Profile.

Unredeemed rewards will be visible on the Skylight Calendar under the rewards tab unless deleted in the Skylight App. 

Rewards and stars can only be created, edited, and managed via the Skylight App. On the Calendar device, the rewards tab displays progress toward Reward goals and allows rewards to be redeemed once enough stars have been earned.

Rewards on the Calendar

View Rewards on the Calendar

Tap the Rewards icon in the navigation bar.

If a Profile has enough stars to claim a reward, the reward will be shown with a Redeem button, showing how many stars will be redeemed for that reward.

If the Profile does not have enough stars to claim a reward, the button for that reward will show the user’s progress to the reward. 

Redeem a Reward on the Calendar

Redeem saved stars for a reward:

1. Tap Rewards in the Navigation bar on the Calendar.
2. Find your Profile.
   You may need to swipe depending on the number of profiles and the orientation of the Calendar.
3. Tap the Redeem button associated with the Reward you want.
   Calendar will only show the Redeem button on Rewards you have enough stars for.

When a family member spends stars to redeem a reward, these stars are removed from that person’s Profile and cannot be used for another reward.

Rewards in the Skylight Mobile App

Create a Reward in the Skylight Mobile App

You can create rewards in the Mobile App.

1. Open the Skylight Mobile App.
2. Tap Rewards.
3. Tap the Add button.
4. Enter a Title.
   The title will appear on the reward card.
5. Optional: enter a Description.
   The description will appear on the reward details popup.
6. Optional: select an Emoji.
   The selected Emoji will appear on the reward card. Emoji can be a fun way to help younger family members recognize a reward.
7. Choose if the reward should Renew after redeeming.
8. Enter the number of Stars required for this reward.
9. Select at least one Profile that is eligible for the reward.
   All rewards need to be assigned to at least one Profile. If needed, add an additional profile with the Add button.

If you create a reward that renews after redeeming, it will be available again immediately as long as the Profile has enough stars to redeem it.

View Rewards in the Mobile App

You can view rewards in the Mobile App.

1. Open the Skylight Mobile App.
2. Tap Rewards.
3. Select the appropriate Profile.

Rewards assigned to the Profile will appear on cards. If the profile has many rewards available, swipe to see more cards.

Redeem a Reward in the Mobile App

Stars can be redeemed for Rewards in the Mobile app.

1. Open the Skylight Mobile App.
2. Tap Rewards.
3. Select the appropriate Profile.
4. Tap the Redeem button associated with the Reward you want.
   Calendar will only show the Redeem button on Rewards you have enough stars for.
