App settings are per-device settings. You can have different app settings for each of your devices.
Choose a Device
At the top of the App Settings screen displays the currently selected device. If you have multiple devices associated with your Skylight Account, you can change the selected device.
Changing settings in the App Settings screen will only affect the selected device.
Change the selected device:
- Tap the device name.
A drop-down menu displays all of your devices. The selected device is shown with a blue dot. - Tap on a device name to select it.
Different App Settings will be available depending on the type of device selected.
Settings For Calendar Devices
General
Tap General to adjust general settings for the selected device.
In the General screen, you can adjust when your Skylight Calendar starts the week.
Set the starting day for the week:
- Tap Start day on.
- Choose the starting day of the week.
The selected day is shown with a blue dot.
Calendar
Tap Calendar to to adjust calendar settings for the selected device.
Synced Calendars
Tap Synced Calendars to manage which calendars are synced with your Skylight Account. Please see What does Skylight Calendar sync with? for more.
Shade Weekends
Tap the Shade Weekends toggle switch to enable or disable dimming weekend days in the calendar display.
Dim Past Events
Tap the Dim Past Events toggle switch to enable or disable dimming past events in the calendar display.
Color Code Multi-Profile Events
Tap the Color Code Multi-Profile Events toggle switch to enable or disable events with multiple associated profiles as bars with multiple colors.
Show Meals
Tap Show meals to display toggle switches for each of your four meal categories. Toggle the switches to show or hide each category on your device.
Default Sync
When you create events on your Calendar, you can choose to have those events sync back to a calendar synced from a remote calendar provider. If you would like new events on this device to sync back to a particular calendar by default:
- Tap By default, events sync back to…
- Tap a calendar.
Only one calendar can be chosen as the default.
The calendar you choose will be the default synced calendar for events created on the Calendar device. You may also edit your events to change this setting for individual events.
Linked Devices
Tap Linked Devices to manage linking one or more of your Calendar devices together.
Link an Additional Calendar
- Tap the Add button.
- On the New linked device screen, tap in the textbox and type the name of the new Calendar.
- Tap Next.
Next, use the buttons at the top of the Activate device screen to choose if you need to activate the new device.
If the new device is Not activated:
- Power on your new device.
- Connect the device to Wi-Fi.
- Enter the displayed activation code on the new Calendar device.
The device will refresh with a welcome screen. - Tap Done.
Remove a Link
Remove a linked device from the selected device:
- On the Linked devices screen, tap the device name you want to remove.
- Tap Reset device.
- Tap Reset to confirm.
The linked device will be reset, breaking the link and removing all content from the reset device.
Content on your other devices will not be deleted.
Notifications
From the My Skylight Menu, tap Notifications to manage notifications settings for the selected device.
Toggle At time of event to enable or disable a notification when an event starts.
Toggle Before event to enable or disable a notification before an event starts.
If Before event is enabled, choose when the notification happens:
- 10 minutes before the event
- 30 minutes before the event
- 1 hour before the event
- A custom amount of time before the event
Choose Custom to set an arbitrary time between the notification and the event on the Custom screen.
On the Custom screen:
- Enter a number in the Amount textbox.
- Select Minutes, Hours, or Days before.
Only one unit of time can be selected. - Tap Done.
Manage Users
Tap Manage Users to add or remove user access to the selected device.
Invite Users
Invite a new user to manage the selected device in the Invite section.
Tap the Enter email address textbox and type the invited user’s email address.
Tap Send.
The email address appears in the list under Has access.
Users With Access
The Has access section lists the users with administrative access to the selected device.
Tap Block next to an email address to move that email address to the Blocked list.
Blocked Users
The Has access section lists the users with administrative access to the selected device.
Tap Unblock next to an email address to restore it to the Has access list.
Transfer Ownership
Tap Transfer Ownership to transfer the selected device to another person.
- In the New owner email textbox, enter the email address of the new owner.
- Tap Transfer.
- Tap Transfer to confirm.
Once you transfer the device to the new owner, they will have sole administrative access to the device. You will no longer be able to manage the device, but you will still be able to send content to the device.
Backup all of your device’s contents before transferring ownership to another.
Privacy Settings
Make changes to the privacy settings for the selected device:
- Tap Privacy Settings.
- Tap Who can send photos? to choose who can send photos to the selected device:
- Choose Senders who I approve to authorize senders.
- Choose Anyone to allow anyone to send photos to the selected device.
- Tap Senders can see to choose what photo senders have access to:
- Choose All photos to permit senders to see everyone's photos
- Choose Only photos they have sent to restrict senders to only the photos they have sent.
- Tap Save.
Settings for Frame Devices
Privacy Settings
Make changes to the privacy settings for the selected device:
- Tap Privacy Settings.
- Tap Who can send photos? to choose who can send photos to the selected device:
- Choose Senders who I approve to authorize senders.
- Choose Anyone to allow anyone to send photos to the selected device.
- Tap Senders can see to choose what photo senders have access to:
- Choose All photos to permit senders to see everyone's photos
- Choose Only photos they have sent to restrict senders to only the photos they have sent.
- Tap Save.
Frame Owner Info
Tap Frame Owner Info to edit the owner information of the selected Frame.
On the Owner Info screen:
- Tap the first textbox to edit the owners’ name.
- Optional: Tap the second textbox to edit the owner’s birthday.
Transfer Ownership
Tap Transfer Ownership to transfer the selected device to another person.
- In the New owner email textbox, enter the email address of the new owner.
- Tap Transfer.
- Tap Transfer to confirm.
Once you transfer the device to the new owner, they will have sole administrative access to the device. You will no longer be able to manage the device, but you will still be able to send content to the device.
Backup all of your device’s contents before transferring ownership to another.
Linked Devices
Tap Linked Devices to manage linking one or more of your Frame devices together.
Link an Additional Frame
- Tap the Add button.
- On the New linked device screen, tap in the textbox and type the name of the new Calendar.
- Tap Next.
Next, use the buttons at the top of the Activate device screen to choose if you need to activate the new device.
If the new device is Not activated:
- Power on your new device.
- Connect the device to Wi-Fi.
- Enter the displayed activation code on the new Frame device.
The device will refresh with a welcome screen. - Tap Done.
Remove a Link

- On the Linked devices screen, tap the device name you want to remove.
- Tap Reset device.
- Tap Reset to confirm.
