Find General Settings On the Calendar

Navigate to the General settings on the Calendar:

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap General.

General

Wi-Fi  

Your Skylight Calendar requires a Wi-Fi connection to function.

Connect to your Wi-Fi network:

  1. Tap the Wi-Fi box.
  2. In the Connect to Wi-Fi list, select your Wi-Fi network name.
    If you do not see your network name in the list, tap Reset to refresh the list.
    If you need the Calendar’s MAC Address to connect it to your network, select the information button to display the MAC address.
  3. Enter the password for your Wi-Fi network.
    Tap the eye icon to show or hide what you have typed. 
  4. Tap Connect.

To restart the Wi-Fi connection with the chosen network, tap the Refresh button

Time zone

Setting the correct time zone on your Skylight Calendar is important for displaying events at the correct time from synced calendars.

Set the time zone:

  1. Tap the Time zone field.
  2. Select the appropriate time zone from the list, or search for your time zone with the search field.
    Not all locations are available in the list - if your location does not appear, use the closest appropriate location to set your time zone.
  3. Tap Save.

Weather

Your Skylight Calendar displays local weather conditions in the Information Bar and for upcoming events. Users can increase the accuracy of this display by entering their address.

Add your address:

  1. Tap the Settings tab.
  2. Tap Enter an address for more accurate weather data.

  3. In the sidebar:
    1. Select your country.
    2. In the search bar, type your address.
    3. Select your address from the search list.
    4. Tap Done.

Display

Text size

Tap Text size to adjust the size of the text displayed on your Skylight Calendar.

There are three choices for text size:

  • Small
  • Medium
  • Large

Choose a text size that works best for you. If you want to be able to view your calendar from farther away, try increasing the text size. If you have a busy calendar packed with events, try a smaller text size.

Display density

Tap Display density to adjust the amount of information that is displayed on the Calendar screen.

All Skylight Calendars support two levels of display density:

  • Cozy
  • Snug

The Skylight Calendar Max supports an additional level of display density, to show more detail on larger screens:

  • Roomy

Choose a display density that works best for you. If you want to be able to view your calendar from farther away, try using the Cozy setting. If you have a busy calendar packed with events, try using the Snug setting. Calendar Max owners may find that the Roomy setting is best for comfortable viewing on large displays.

Automatic brightness

Tap the Automatic brightness switch if you want Skylight Calendar to automatically adjust the screen brightness in response to ambient light.

Brightness

If you want to set the screen brightness to a specific value: 

Tap the Automatic brightness switch to disable automatic brightness.

Adjust the brightness:

  1. Tap the percentage in the Brightness box.
  2. Adjust the slider to select the brightness.
    Adjustments will immediately affect screen brightness.
  3. Tap outside the box to exit the slider.

Parental Lock

Parental Lock helps parents control what their kids have access to on Skylight Calendar, preserving Calendar as the source of truth for events and tasks.

Use the Parental Lock setting to require a PIN to access some parts of your Calendar:

  • Users can set a 4 digit PIN to restrict access to adding or modifying events or tasks.
    This PIN is unique to the Calendar device. Parental Lock is on the device only.
  • Users can choose how many minutes of inactivity until asked for the PIN again.
  • The PIN is required to disable the parental lock.
  • If a you forget your PIN, you can request an email with a magic link. Click the link to reset the PIN.

Enable Parental Lock

If parental lock is not enabled, tap the Parental lock toggle to enable the parental lock PIN.

In the popup:

  1. In the PIN field, enter the PIN you will use to secure the Calendar:
    1. Enter a PIN using the on-screen number pad.
    2. Tap the green check.
  2. Choose if the PIN will be required to Add events and tasks.
  3. Choose if the PIN will be required to Modify events and tasks.
  4. Tap Confirm.
    You will only be able to tap Confirm if one of the requirement checkboxes is selected.

Once parental lock is enabled, you can set how many minutes of activity are needed for the parental lock to engage:

  1. Tap the number of minutes in the Turn parental lock on after inactivity box.
  2. Adjust the slider to select the number of minutes.
    Slider can only be set to values between 1 minute and 10 minutes.
  3. Tap outside the box to exit the slider.

Disable Parental Lock

If parental lock is enabled, tap the Parental lock switch to disable the parental lock PIN.

Reset the PIN

If you cannot remember your PIN, you can request a magic link by email to reset it.

To request a magic link:

  1. In the Enter PIN dialog box, tap Forgot PIN?
  2. In the Forgot PIN? dialog box, tap Send email.
    The dialog box will show the email address where the magic link will be sent. This is the address associated with your Skylight Account.

Volume

Adjust the volume:

  1. Tap the percentage in the Video and reminder volume box.
  2. Adjust the slider to select the volume.
    A chime will play to demonstrate the volume setting.
  3. Tap outside the box to exit the slider.

Enable the Keyboard clicks setting to turn on clicking sounds when typing on the on-screen keyboard.

Other

The Device name field displays the name of this Calendar. It cannot be changed on the device.

The Connection to Skylight servers field indicated the connection state of your Calendar. Tap the Refresh button to reconnect to the Skylight servers. 

The Software Version field reports the version of the Skylight software that your Calendar is using.

The Firmware Version field reports the version of the Skylight firmware that your Calendar is using.

The MAC address field reports the id of the WiFi adapter in your Calendar.

Reset the Device

A soft reset of the device will erase all user data on the Skylight Calendar. Wi-Fi settings will be preserved.

To soft reset your Skylight Calendar:

  1. Tap Reset device.
  2. Tap Reset.
