Using the Tasks Tab: Routines and Chores

  • Updated

You can create, update, and remove tasks both directly on your Skylight Calendar and in the Mobile App.

Tasks have two types: a task can be either a chore or a routine.

A chore is a task that can be assigned to one or more people, and can be used to track completion of singular events or repeating events. Chores do not need to happen at a particular time of the day.

A routine is a task that is meant to repeat, to build a habit or make steady progress on an open-ended goal. Routines occur around the same time of day, which repeat on a daily basis and can be set for morning, afternoon, and evening.

When completing a task, a family member can earn stars. Stars can be redeemed for Rewards.

Managing Tasks in Skylight Calendar

Tasks View

To show the Tasks pane, tap the Tasks icon in the navigation bar.

The Tasks pane shows unfinished tasks, organized by Profile.

By default, Skylight Calendar will only show routines appropriate to the current time of day by displaying some routines and auto-hiding the rest.

At the following times, the device will switch to show only the routines from the appropriate part of the day:

Time Routines Displayed
Midnight - Noon Morning
Noon - 6pm Afternoon
6pm - Midnight Evening

Tap the Morning, Afternoon, or Evening icons to show or hide routines at any time.

Tracking Progress, Filtering and Rewards

Like Chores, each Routine has a progress bar indicating how many have been completed. These appear as icons at the top of each column.

Tap the Morning, Afternoon, Evening, or Chores icons to show/hide scheduled tasks at any time.
