Use the Meals icon to plan your family’s meals. Everyone in your family will be able to check the meal plan, and meals will display on your Calendar in the Schedule view.

Tap the Meals icon to view and manage your meal plan:
Viewing the Meal Plan
The default view of the meal plan displays:
- The month and year of the current meal plan.
- A menu of buttons.
- A scrollable view of the meal plan, by day and date.
Swipe up and down to see more of the meal plan.
Meal planning can handle up to four meal categories. By default, the meal planner uses the following four meal categories:
- Breakfast
- Lunch
- Dinner
- Snack
Use the Filter menu to show or hide meal categories, or rename them to suit your household schedule.

Manage meal categories with the filter menu:
Use the toggle switches to show or hide specific meal categories. For example, you may not need the meal category Snack; use the toggle to hide it from your meal plan.
Use the pencil icon to rename the meal categories:
- Tap the pencil icon.
- Tap the Name textbox to change the name of the meal category.
- Tap a color to change the color associated with that meal category.
- Tap Save.
Adding a Recipe to a Meal
Add a recipe to the meal plan:
- Tap the Add button.
- Choose if you want to:
- Add a meal from your existing recipes
- Create a new meal from scratch.
Adding a Recipe to a Meal From Existing Recipes
- In the Plan meal panel, tap From Recipes.
- Optional: Tap the filter buttons to show a specific meal category.
- Tap a recipe in the list.
After tapping the recipe, the Plan meal panel displays details for the meal plan entry.
If you need to move the entry to a different day, tap the date.
Tap the meal category to change it.
If you would like the meal to repeat automatically, tap the Repeats toggle switch and select how often you would like the meal to repeat, and when you would like the repeat to stop.
If you have any notes for this particular recipe, add them to the Instructions or ingredients textbox.
If you would like your changes to apply to future meals, tap the Update Recipe toggle.
- Tap Plan.
Adding a New Recipe to a Meal
In the Add meal panel, tap New Entry.
Across the top of the Plan meal dialog box is a row of buttons. Type in the recipe, or use the buttons to choose how you want to add the meal:
Enter the new list information by typing in the pane, or tap one of the buttons to choose how you want to add the event with Sidekick:
- Submit a Website with a recipe on it and add it with Sidekick.
- Take a Photo of a written recipe and add it with Sidekick.
- Talk about your recipe with Sidekick with the microphone on your phone.
- Take a photo of your Fridge and use Sidekick to build a recipe from it.

Type the Recipe
- Give your new recipe a name with the What Are We Eating? Textbox.
- Tap Date to change when you want to use the recipe for a meal.
- Tap the meal category to change it.
- Optional: tap the Repeats toggle switch and select how often you would like the meal to repeat, and when you would like the repeat to stop.
- Add notes for this recipe to the Instructions or ingredients textbox.
- Tap the Save to Recipes toggle if you would like to save this recipe for future use.
- Tap Plan.
Submit the URL of a Recipe Website
- Tap Website in the Sidekick menu.

Choose a recipe category.
Recipes can only be in one category at a time. -
Enter a URL:
- Tap the Paste URL button to load a recipe URL from the clipboard.
- Tap Find Online to open a web browning pane and search for a recipe. When the recipe page is loaded, tap Send to Sidekick.
Take a Photo of a Written Recipe
- Tap Photo in the Sidekick menu.

Choose a recipe category.
Recipes can only be in one category at a time. - Choose if you want to take a photo Of a recipe, or Of your fridge.
Taking a Photo of a Recipe
Tap Of a recipe.
You can choose to:
- Take a photo of a recipe with your camera.
- Use a previously taken photo from your camera roll.
Take a photo with your camera:
- Tap Take Photo.
- Wait for the recipe to import.

Check the recipe contents.
You can edit the recipe as needed with the pencil icon. - Tap Continue.

- Tap Choose from Library.
- Select one photo from your camera roll.
- Wait for the recipe to import.

Describe the Recipe WIth Your Voice
- Tap Website in the Sidekick menu.

Choose a recipe category.
Recipes can only be in one category at a time. - Tap Start Recording.

Describe your recipe.
Give it a title, list the ingredients, and say the steps. Use as much detail as you can. - Tap Stop recording.
- Wait for the recipe to import.

Check the recipe contents.
You can edit the recipe as needed with the pencil icon. - Tap Continue.
Take a Photo of your Fridge For Recipe Ideas
- Tap Website in the Sidekick menu.

Editing a Meal Recipe
If a recipe is already part of a meal, you can change it.
- Tap the recipe in the meal plan
- Tap the menu button.
- Tap Edit.
- Change the settings for the recipe.
If you want the changes to be saved with the recipe for future use, enable the Update Recipe toggle. - Tap Save.
Removing a Recipe From a Meal
If a recipe is already part of a meal, you can remove it.
- Tap the recipe in the meal plan
- Tap the menu button.
- Tap Delete.
- Tap Delete.
This will remove the recipe from the meal plan. This will not remove the recipe from the recipe box.
