Use the Photos feature to view and manage photos.

Viewing Photos

The default view of the Photos feature displays:

  • A menu of buttons for managing your photos.
  • All of the photos associated with the current device or household. 

You can display a slideshow of your photos on your phone with the Slideshow button.

Managing Photos

Select any photo to view it in  full, along with management options:

  • Like the photo.
  • Caption the photo.
  • Share the photo with others.
  • Download the photo to your phone.
  • Delete the photo.

Like a Photo

  1. Select a photo.
  2. Tap Like.

Caption a Photo

  1. Select a photo.
  2. Tap Caption.
  3. Enter a caption into the textbox.
  4. Tap Done.

The caption will appear when the photo is displayed full screen.

Share a Photo

  1. Select a photo.
  2. Tap Share.
  3. Use the share sheet to share your photo.

Depending on your phone, you may be able to share the photo via Email, Text, etc.

Download a Photo

  1. Select a photo.
  2. Tap Download.

Find the downloaded photo in your photo library in the Skylight album.

Delete a Photo

  1. Select a photo.
  2. Tap Delete.
  3. Tap Delete to confirm.

Adding a Photo

  1. Tap the Add button.
  2. Select the devices or households you want to send a photo to.
    You can choose more than one device or household.
  3. Choose how you want to add photos:
    • Pick from gallery to add one or more photos from your camera roll.
    • Use your camera to take a photo and add it.
    • Draw a doodle in the app and add it.

Pick Photos from the Gallery

  1. Select Pick from gallery.
  2. Select photos from your camera roll.
  3. Confirm the selection.
  4. Use the Edit items panel to make edits to the selected photos:
    • Select a photo by tapping on a thumbnail.
    • Tap Caption to add a caption to the selected photo.
    • Tap Edit to manipulate the photo.
    • Tap the trash can icon on the selected photo’s thumbnail to delete the photo.

Adding a Caption to the Selected Photo

  1. Tap Caption.
  2. Enter a caption into the textbox.
  3. Tap Done.

Edit the Selected Photo

The Skylight Mobile App offers simple editing capabilities.

Tap Edit to show the photo editing pane, with the photo edit menu across the bottom edge:

  • Tap the photo to start a free-from crop.
  • Tap Cancel to cancel the edit.
  • Tap the Rotate Counter-Clockwise icon to rotate the photo 90° to the left.
  • Tap the Undo icon to undo the previous change.
  • Tap the Size and Aspect button to crop the photo to a set aspect ratio.
  • Tap the Rotate Clockwise icon to rotate the photo 90° to the right.
  • Tap Choose to save your edits.
  1. Tap Send all.

Take a Photo With Your Camera

Select Use your camera.

Take a photo.

Adding a Caption to the Photo

  1. Tap Caption.
  2. Enter a caption into the textbox.
  3. Tap Done.

Edit the Photo

  • Tap the photo to start a free-from crop.

Draw a Doodle

  1. Select Draw a Doodle.
  2. Draw a doodle in the canvas.
  3. Tap Reset to clean the canvas.
  4. Tap Undo and Redo to remove or put back changes.
  5. Select line type and color in the palette at the bottom edge of the screen.
  6. When the doodle is done, press the Send button.
  7. Verify your doodle in the Doodle preview pane.
  8. Tap Send Doodle!

Organizing Photos into Albums

To make your photos easier to manage, you can organize the photos you store with Skylight into albums. 

Adding an Album

  1. Tap Albums.
    The Albums pane will appear.
  2. Tap New Album.
  3. In the Album name field, add a name for the new album.
  4. Tap Save.

Add Photos to an Album

  1. Tap Albums.
    The Albums pane will appear.
  2. Tap on an existing album.
  3. Tap the Add button.
  4. Select one or more photos.
  5. Tap Add to Album.

Add Photos to an Album

  1. Tap Albums.
    The Albums pane will appear.
  2. Tap on an existing album.
  3. Tap Rename.
  4. Enter a new name for the album.
  5. Tap Save.

Add Photos to an Album

  1. Tap Albums.
    The Albums pane will appear.
  2. Tap on an existing album.
  3. Tap Delete.
  4. Tap OK to confirm.

Inviting Others to Send and Manage Photos

  1. Tap Invite.
  2. On the Invite others pane, tap Invite to generate an invitation link.
  3. Use the share sheet to share the invitation link.

This invitation link will give the recipient the ability to manage all of your Skylight account features, not just your photos.

Moving Photos to Another Device or Household

  1. Tap Select.
  2. Select one or more photos.
  3. Tap Copy to.
  4. Select one or more other devices or households to copy the selected photos to.
  5. Tap Copy assets.

Deleting Multiple Photos

  1. Tap Select.
  2. Select one or more photos.
  3. Tap Delete.
  4. Tap OK.
