View Linked Devices

The Linked Devices screen shows all of your devices, grouped by Household.

Each Household connects linked devices and family profiles under one name.

To reach the Linked Devices screen:

1. Open the Skylight Mobile App.
2. Tap the My Skylight menu.
3. Tap Linked Devices.

Edit a Household

Change a Household name:

1. Tap the pencil icon next to the household you want to update.
   
2. Tap the Household Nickname textbox.
3. Edit the Household name.
4. Tap Save.

You cannot change the Household Email setting in the Mobile App. If you need to update this setting, please contact us:

• Submit a Help Request
• Email [e-mail]

Manage Linked Devices

Update the Nickname for a Device

1. Tap the menu icon next to a device name.
   
2. Tap the Device Nickname field.
3. Enter a new nickname.

Remove a Device From a Household

1. Tap the menu icon next to a device name.
   
2. Tap Remove & Reset Device.
3. Tap Remove & Reset Device to confirm.

Add a Device

1. Tap Add a Device.
2. Select  if you have a device to connect to:
   • Select Yes, I have my own Skylight device if you have purchased a Skylight Device for yourself, and want to add it to your Household.
   • Select I’m joining someone else’s Skylight if you have received an invitation to someone else’s device.
   • Select Just exploring the app for now if you’d like to try the app without a device.

Set Up Your Own Skylight Device

Choose the type of device you want to add to your household:

• Calendar
• Frame
• Buddy

Set up a new Calendar device:

1. Tap Calendar.
2. Enter an email address for your new device.
   You can use letters, numbers, hyphens (-) and underscores (_). Pick a name that’s short and easy to remember. If the name you enter has already been claimed, try again. 
3. Tap Next.
4. Optional: Tap Invite to open a share sheet. 
   Use the share sheet to share the invite link to your Household with family and friends.
5. Tap Next.
6. Power on your new Calendar.
7. Connect it to your Wi-Fi network (please see Configuring Your Calendar).
8. Enter the supplied activation code on your Calendar device.
9. Tap Done.

Link to an existing Calendar device to mirror content:

1. Tap Calendar.
2. Tap Select a device.
3. Choose a device from the list.
4. Tap Link Device.
5. Enter a name for your device.
   Pick a name that’s short and easy to remember. If the name you enter has already been claimed, try again.
6. Tap Next.
7. Power on your new Calendar.
8. Connect it to your Wi-Fi network (please see Configuring Your Calendar).
9. Enter the supplied activation code on your Calendar device.
10. Tap Done.

Set up a new Frame device:

1. Tap Frame.
2. Choose if you want the Frame to be for:
   1. Me
   2. Someone else
3. Tap Confirm. 

If the Frame is for you:

You have the option of setting up a new Frame, or linking to an existing Frame.

Set up a new Frame:

1. Enter an email address for your new device.
   You can use letters, numbers, hyphens (-) and underscores (_). Pick a name that’s short and easy to remember. If the name you enter has already been claimed, try again. 
2. Tap Next.
3. Tap Who can send photos? to choose who can send photos to your Frame:
   • Senders who I approve
     Only people you approve can send photos.
   • Anyone
     Anyone will be able to send photos to your Frame.
4. Tap Senders can see to choose which photos are visible to senders:
   • All photos
   • Only photos they have sent
5. Tap Next.
6. Optional: Tap Invite to open a share sheet. 
   Use the share sheet to share the invite link to your Household with family and friends.
7. Tap Next.
8. Power on your new Frame.
9. Connect it to your Wi-Fi network (please see How do I connect my Skylight to WiFi?).
10. Enter the supplied activation code on your Calendar device.
11. Tap Done.

Link to an existing Frame to mirror content:

1. Tap Select a device.
2. Select an existing Frame.
3. Tap Link Device.
4.  Enter a name for your device.
   Pick a name that’s short and easy to remember. If the name you enter has already been claimed, try again.
5. Tap Next.
6. Power on your new Calendar.
7. Connect it to your Wi-Fi network (please see How do I connect my Skylight to WiFi?).
8. Enter the supplied activation code on your Calendar device.
9. Tap Done.

Set up a new Buddy device:

1. Tap Buddy.
2. Tap Household and select the Household that your new Buddy will be connected to.
3. Tap Link & Continue.
   If you want your Buddy in a separate Household, tap Create a New Household.
4. Tap Let’s Go!
5. Add a Profile:
   1. Optional: Choose an avatar (please see: Change a Profile Picture and Profile Color).
   2. Tap Name and enter the name of the person using the Profile.
   3. Optional: Tap Birthday and enter the birthday of the person using the Profile.
   4. Optional: Tap Linked calendars to sync an external calendar with this Profile.
   5. Tap Save.

Join Someone Else’s Skylight Device

1. Choose the type of device.
   They can join either a Skylight Calendar or a Skylight Frame.
2. On the Find a device pane, they must enter the first part of the Family Email address of the device they want to join.
   This will be a <name>@ourskylight.com address. They only need to enter the <name>.
3.  Tap Add.

Once your request has been approved, you can send photos and videos directly to the Skylight device in the invite.

Explore the App

1. Enter an email address for your new Household.
   You can use letters, numbers, hyphens (-) and underscores (_). Pick a name that’s short and easy to remember. If the name you enter has already been claimed, try again. 
2. Tap Next.
3. Optional: Tap Invite to open a share sheet. 
   Use the share sheet to share the invite link to your Household with family and friends.
4. Tap Next.
5. Tap Time zone to set your time zone.
   Not all cities are listed; choose the city that’s closest to you.

Tap Done.
