Configuring Your Calendar

This article covers configuring your Skylight Calendar for use after it has been installed. For help on attaching the stand or mounting the Calendar on the wall, please see the Unboxing and Installing article for your calendar.

Connect to Wi-Fi

Your Skylight Calendar requires a connection to the internet to receive updates, sync with online calendars, and other features.

When starting up for the first time, the Calendar will automatically ask you to connect to your  Wi-Fi network:

1. In the Connect to Wi-Fi list, select your Wi-Fi network name.
   If you do not see your network name in the list, tap Reset to refresh the list.
   If you need the Calendar’s MAC Address to connect it to your network, select the information button to display the MAC address.
2. Enter the password for your Wi-Fi network.
   Tap the eye icon to show or hide what you have typed.
3. Tap Connect.

Activate Your Calendar

Before using your Skylight Calendar, the calendar must be activated. 

There are two ways to activate your skylight:

• Use the Skylight Mobile App
• Visit https://ourskylight.com/finalstep

Activate Your Calendar with the Mobile App

1. Install the Skylight Mobile App on your Apple iPhone or Android phone.
   • For iPhones, search for “Skylight App” in the App store, or use this link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/skylight-app/id1438779037
   • For Android phones, search for "Skylight" in the Google Play store, or use this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skylightframe.mobile&hl=en_US
2. Open the Mobile App.
3. Select Let's get started.
4. Select Yes, I have my own Skylight device.
5. Select Skylight Calendar.
6. Enter a unique email address for your Skylight Calendar.
   Choose an email address that is meaningful to you: your name, or where the calendar is in your home. This email address will be used to identify your Calendar in the app. You will also use this email address to send information to your Calendar.
7. Select Next.
8. Optional: to share your calendar with others, select Invite.
   A share sheet will pop up; use the share sheet to text, email, or otherwise share the invite link with others. 
9. Tap Next.
10. Optional: if you are not subscribed to Skylight Plus, you will have the option to sign up.
    To sign up for Skylight Plus, select Subscribe. Otherwise, select the x in the upper left corner to continue with activation. You can subscribe to Skylight Plus at any time.
11. On the How did you get your Skylight screen, select how you got your Calendar.
12. Select Next.

The Activate Device popup will appear, displaying your six digit activation code.

10. Enter the six digit activation code into your Calendar.
11. Tap Done on the Mobile App.

Your activated Calendar will now appear in the Devices list in the Mobile App, under Calendars.

Activate Your Calendar at the Skylight Website

1. Visit https://ourskylight.com/finalstep
2. Select Yes, I have my own skylight device. 
3. Select Calendar.
4. Enter a unique email address for your Skylight Calendar.
   Choose an email address that is meaningful to you: your name, or where the calendar is in your home. This email address will be used to identify your Calendar in the app. You will also use this email address to send information to your Calendar.
5. Select Save.

The Activate Calendar popup will appear, displaying your six digit activation code.

5. Enter the six digit activation code into your Calendar.
6. Select Next Step.
7. Select Sync Individual Events.
   Note the email address: you can invite this email address to your events to add events to your Calendar.
8. Select Finish.

Configure Your Calendar

Set the Time Zone

1. Tap the time zone box to see a list of time zones.
2. Select your time zone.
   You can scroll the list by swiping up and down, or use the Search field to find your time zone. Your specific region may not be available - choose the closest region in your time zone.
3. Tap Save.

New Features

The What’s new panel displays new features.

Tap Got it to dismiss the What’s new panel.

Enter Address (Optional)

You may enter your address so your Calendar will display more accurate weather information.

1. Select your country.
2. In the search bar, type your address.
3. Select your address from the search list.
4. Tap Done.

Return to the Calendar Screen

Tap the Calendar button to return to the calendar screen.
